Youth Positive Change is a youth-led, non-profit organization based in Burundi that empowers young women and men to lead inclusive, peaceful, and climate-resilient communities. Founded in 2018, YPC focuses on education, health, economic opportunities, climate action, and civic engagement.

YPC primarily serves children, adolescents, and youth aged 8–35, with a special focus on girls, young women, youth with disabilities, and other marginalized groups. We also work with parents, teachers, community leaders, and local institutions to create supportive environments for young people.

YPC works across four strategic priorities:

  • Transformative Education, Digital Skills & Youth Leadership

  • Youth Climate Action & Green Innovation

  • Youth Economic Empowerment & Livelihoods

  • Organizational Excellence & Gender Equality

These are supported by cross-cutting themes like safeguarding, inclusion, and youth participation.

YPC is governed by a General Assembly and an Executive Committee, ensuring transparency and accountability. We are a legally registered non-profit and rely on partnerships with governments, UN agencies, NGOs, the private sector, and donors to fund our programs.

YPC has a zero-tolerance policy for abuse, exploitation, harassment, and discrimination. We maintain strict safeguarding measures, including training, reporting mechanisms, and safe programming environments to protect all participants, especially children and youth.

You can join as a volunteer, partner with us, support a project, or become a youth club member. Visit our “Get Involved” page for current opportunities or contact us directly.

By 2030, YPC aims to directly reach over 30,000 young people, with at least 55% being girls and young women. Our programs support youth-led enterprises, climate initiatives, and improved access to education, health, and livelihoods.

YPC works across Burundi in vulnerable urban and rural communities, refugee camps, host communities, schools, and youth clubs. Our programs are designed to be inclusive and community-basedt
